学院拥有国家级Linux技术推广与培训中心、国家西北地区CAD培训网络-兰州理工大学CAD培训中心；拥有甘肃省制造业信息化工程技术研究中心、甘肃省中医药大数据产业技术工程研究中心两个省级工程中心，兰州市物联网工程研究中心、兰州市物联网人才培养基地等市级科研和人才培养中心。

学院建立了网络与信息安全、复杂系统智能信息处理、智能制造与工业互联网、宽带无线理论信息处理等学科团队。
    自2004年以来，学院共获批国家科技支撑计划项目1项，国家重点研发计划项目1项，国家自然基金项目55项，省部级项目58项，厅局级项目45项。项目研究在智能智造、智能优化、网络安全保障、数据科学工程等研究领域取得了一批国内领先的研究理论与优秀成果。通过科研成果鉴定5项，其中“明胶生产退灰、中和、提胶工序综合自动化控制系统及关键技术研究“和”明胶生产离子交换工序自动控制系统的应用研究“两项成果取得国际先进水平。学院发表学术论文近2000余篇，其中：SCI论文200余篇，EI论文400余篇，出版专著10余部。获得发明专利和实用新型专利共80余项，软件著作权128项。其中4项专利成果完成了转让，得到一定的经济效益。学院获得省、厅局级奖项共45余项。其中甘肃省科技进步奖7项，其他省级奖项8项，甘肃省教育厅科技奖11项，兰州市科技进步奖7项，甘肃省各类工程协会科技奖9项。随着学院获批科研项目逐年增加，项目成果登记达到30项。科研进款7740余万。

3. 研究中心

This discipline now has 7 teachers, including 6 professors,7 doctoral supervisors, 7 with doctorate, 1 listed in New Century Talents Project, 5 listed in Gansu Leading Talents, 1 western area expert in the 11th Five-Year Plan Manufacturing Information Project and 2 experts in Gansu Manufacturing Information Expert Group. This discipline owns National Linux Technology Promotion and Training Center, Gansu Manufacturing Industry Informatization Engineering Research Center and the only provincial model software college in Gansu with total lab area of more than 2000㎡ and equipment asset worth more than 15 million Yuan. This discipline has completed 8 projects from National Sci-Tech Support Plan, Project 863 and NSFC, obtained 10 provincial science and technology awards, 1 teaching achievement prize of Department of Education of Gansu Province, published more than 400 high-level academic papers and 200 of them are included in three major retrieving tools, 2 monographs and 8 textbook, and undertakes 5 ongoing NSFC projects and more than 10 ongoing provincial projects.

Graduates of this discipline mainly engage in relevant research, development, consulting and service of software. Some graduates have entered in R&D centers of the 500 biggest Chinese companies, and some others have found jobs in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou or their hometowns.

Scientific Research

The college has established teams in network and information security, complex system intelligent information processing, intelligent manufacturing and industrial Internet, broadband wireless theory information processing and other disciplines.Since 2004, the college has been approved a total of 1 national science and technology support plan project, 1 national key research and development plan project, 55 national Nature Fund projects, 58 provincial and ministerial level projects, 45 bureau level projects. The project research has achieved a number of domestic leading research theories and excellent results in the research fields of intelligent manufacturing, intelligent optimization, network security and data science engineering. Through the identification of 5 scientific research achievements, of which "gelatin production ash removal, neutralization, extraction process integrated automatic control system and key technology research" and "gelatin production ion exchange process automatic control system application research" two achievements achieved the international advanced level. The college has published more than 2,000 academic papers, including more than 200 SCI papers, more than 400 EI papers, and more than 10 monographs. We have obtained more than 80 invention patents and utility model patents, and 128 software Copyrights. Among them, 4 patent achievements have been transferred and certain economic benefits have been obtained. The college has won more than 45 provincial and bureau level awards. Among them, there are 7 Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, 8 other provincial awards, 11 science and Technology Awards of Gansu Provincial Education Department, 7 Science and Technology Progress Awards of Lanzhou , and 9 science and technology awards of various engineering associations in Gansu Province. With the number of approved scientific research projects increasing year by year, the number of project results registered reached 30. More than 77.4 million yuan was invested in scientific research.
